@wiesnerbeth Nice! Most weeks, my daughter-in-law forwards me the email with the book my grandson checks out of the school library. I love seeing what catches his interest from week to week--snakes, Louisiana (he lives in New Mexico), space.
@eudora I love that! When our school librarian retired last year she told our principal that my oldest son held the record for most books checked out 600+ I think). She retired his library card number when he went to middle school. He’s 24 now and still loves to read! I am a two-time career switcher and this is my first year as a librarian. It’s been an up and down year but one of my favorite things is seeing what the kids check out. Today a 3rd grader wanted a book about narwhals and a 4th grader wanted “A Wrinkle in Time.” I once met Madeleine L’Engle at a book signing, so I was pretty happy. I hope the new movie will encourage kids to check out her books.
