On the road to Foce al Giovo (1)

Foce al Giovo is a 30-minute drive up into the mountains from Lucignana, and at about 1600 m above sea level.

It is a perfect place to have a quiet picnic and a stunning walk through beech woods, and admire views down valleys to the sea on the horizon.

We went up on the 27th and it was blissfully quiet, with just the sound of the leaves for company.
