She took me to the Auckland Art Gallery, with paintings and photographs by Maori artists, among others.
This is the park behind the gallery, with many large pohutukawa trees appreciated for their extensive low and cool canopy. The plant produces crimson flowers and is also known as the Christmas Tree.
