Dinner time!

Sorry to anyone who doesn't like stuff like this ..... but this is the circle of life.

I love this photo and was thrilled to be able to see this gorgeous lioness play with her "kill" and then sit down and eat it. I have to say that the "kill" is sanitised - gutted and no head so that people can't personalise the day old male diary calf. Personally, I am more than happy to see the lions get a great meal.

This lion gave the male a very vocal warning when it came into view ...... he went straight back and got his own dinner and I can't say I blame him ..... she had one heck of a roar on her!!!!

Thanks for all of the lovely comments ...... I am off to listen to another lecture on exposure! my online course that I have been doing is going to be withdrawn soon so I am trying to get as much of it done as I can.

Three good things today:
1. My little car passed it's MOT ...... can't believe I have had it for a year now!
2. Breakfast at Barton Grange garden centre ..... last treat of our week off.
3. We had haggis, neeps and tatties for tea ..... a bit early but very nice!
Well all I think is - does a calf need to be killed every day for the lions! Doesn't bear thinking about! But that is what lions need. Haggis - the real genuine article?

@maggiemae first time I have ever seen them get a calf ..... I am guessing that it isn't an every day thing. Yep .... lovely genuine haggis - with a dram of whisky too! :)

Super details. I doubt that they would get a calf on a daily basis, probably only once a week.
