Watercolour Lion

Rather than follow a tutorial, I wanted to see just how much I have learnt about using layers in Photoshop. I had an idea in my head of turning a quite dark shot that I had of the lion into more of a watercolour effect.
I have been learning more about the dodge tool and used it to lighten up the dark foliage that was around the lion. I used quite a few adjustment layers including a solid colour - the first time I have tried that! which really lightened up the photo. I applied a canvas texture to finish.
I am not displeased with it ....... I certainly feel as if I have learnt quite a bit!

Three good things today:
1. Storm Doris was a little bad tempered - thankfully we came off quite lightly and just a few things in the garden had a little fly around.
2. A quick pizza tea tonight - I am tired and sore.
3. Feeling quite inspired to do more art style edits - it's something I enjoy.
I think the more you extend your knowledge, the more skilled you become because you know the effect you want to have for the finish!
