Fire and ice

I finally got out to a nature reserve for the first time in over a month. It was only to a local one (Longton Brickcroft) but I felt so much better afterwards!
It was a bit of a last minute decision to go as it is cold and there was still ice around.

This is just a phone photo as I liked the sun shining through onto the ice on the pond.

There were lots of cars there today and I met a fellow photographer that I have seen at a few reserves. He told me that there were a lot of twitchers around as there was a barnacle goose on the other lake. I took a mooch up as I had no idea what this goose looked like and was told it had gone. It hadn't! it was hiding amongst a whole load of ducks being fed seed!
I have to say that I am very unimpressed by the goose ......

Three good things today:
1. Has to be getting out!
2. Had a rough day yesterday (broken tooth and the dentist!) so it was so good to be able to stay in bed this morning until my painkillers had worn off.
3. Have I said how much I love being retired? being able to just decide at dinner time that I am off out for an hour or two.
You picked a great day Al, would really blow the cobwebs away!
