As it turns out, trying to get a photograph of a butterfly is ridiculous. This was my first attempt, and the wind made things difficult. Part of the shot was out of focus, so I decided to try and create phony dof in the rest of the photo.
Great attempt! You got part of him in focus! I find that I have to be really careful when taking pics of butterflies. If they see your shadow, sense any movement, or hear you at all, they are gone.
