A victim of Hurrican Ivan, September 16, 2004. Despite being overshadowed by the Gulf Coast's Hurricane Katrina a year later, Hurricane Ivan was the 10th most intense Atlantic hurricane ever recorded. By the time it made landfall in Gulf Shores, AL, it was a Category 3 with 120 mph winds. Bon Secour, a local fishing village, was in the bulls-eye.
