An experiment with an ice cube over some glass surface for the "cold" theme. To be honest I don't really like it but I don't want to be behind with the project...
I like the concept and the reflections creating a sense of movement. I feel like the shot could be composed in a bit different way. There's now three focal points to the shot (bright lights, ice cube, reflections)... I think the most ordinary of those is the bright lights, so why not compose the ice cube on top part, maybe rotate the shot a bit to right to emphasize those reflections swirling around the ice cube. Some of the lights will still be showing to give some context to the shot (why there are those reflections...). Did I make any sense ? :-)
I think it's a good shot- especially with the holiday lights in the background. I was thinking of an ice cube for the cold shot too and wanted to catch it melting. The problem was that it never melted! So I ended up using my frost shot instead.
@myhrhelper thank you!
I put an ice cube on some glass food container, camera sitting on some books, Xmas lights in the background. Set the "macro" mode and fucused manually on the cube. That's all.
@janmaki maximum respect for your suggestions: will definitely try this! I might also try to repeat the shot since I feel quite uncomfortable about it
