Who remembers those summer days when the sun used to shine, casting sharp shadows on the ground? I do, and I thought this one looked happy ... but there'll be no such happiness today or for a few more days at least, if the weather forecast is right, and I am not happy about that because I'll be spending tomorrow afternoon on a sailing barge and was looking forward to sitting on the open deck taking a few pictures! (Local forecast: cloudy, with 70% chance of precipitation).
Yes, @maggiemae , it has the brick-red sails typical of Thames sailing barges. It is the 'Victor', which represented Suffolk in last Sunday's Jubilee parade of sail on the Thames. Thanks for your comment.
Great capture those are some of the sharpest shadows I have ever seen. I used to enjoy finding shadows as a boy and I still do! Hope your weather improves for the sailing.
Are those sun glasses its wearing! Great pattern and such a sharp shadow. Have a great day, shame about no sun, just what you need on the river but I am sure you will find us a good shot.
Well, despite the forecast, the weather's perked up here considerably and the sun's shining as I type. I hope it's doing the same where you are and that you get some sunshine for your day out tomorrow.
The shadows in this are lovely.
