Indonesia is a country of cats.

Street cats roam freely and reproduce at alarming rates.

This mama cat had a whole litter trailing after her.
Poor thing just wanted a bit of time to herself. That, I can relate to.

This would be a great "side by side" theme shot, too. Fantastic comp, POV, and DOF. I guess that makes this a perfect shot ...

Oh that poor kitty. What a life for a cat, especially female cats. She is smiling at you.

@beachradish Thanks for the side-by-side suggestion. I've tagged it.

What a plaintive expression on her face

Aw look at her expression - she looks so hungry and in need of a fuss! The little scrap trailing behind her makes such a great shot

Wow - another great 'how the other half (feline) live'. Poor mama - great angle focusing on that amazing triangular head.

Wow, that face and those eyes are really incredible. Love the perspective you used...I feel like I'm walking the streets with her. Definite fav. for me.

We have the same problem here in Thailand - millions of stray cats, and especially dogs. Most of the people who live in our small village have a story about a time in their life that they were bitten by a stray dog. It's a tough life for the humans, and a really tough life for all the animals.

The animals are definitely not pampered in some countries like in others.

@morganthailand Definite dearth of dogs here in Indonesia. We often camped at Buddhist temples while in Thailand and there was always a pack of stray dogs ( I once counted 60!) keeping us company.

The monks fed them regularly so it didn't look like too bad of a life...except for all those fights that broke out.

what an odd coloring to this cat. Poor little kitty left behind. If more parents would pay attention to their little ones more this would would become a more loving and better place.
