I hoped some local bird had decided to visit the area, and this fellow was right where I wanted him, just posing! It's a Snowy Egret. I used a recent acquisition, a 600mm f/8.0 catadioptric; small enough to set up quickly.
This getting useful shots every day is going to be some challenge!!
Oh wow! Nicely framed; the rocks and grass on the left side of the image balance the picture just right, and you captured a fantastic reflection of the bird coming off the water. I'll have to take points off, though, for making me go look up what 'catadioptric' means :)
