Into Darkness

Diane Arbus is such a mystery. I can only in awe of her in distance, as I am terrified to go where she went – “to the bottom of the night”. She said: The dark has to stay dark, you feel your way around, and then crawl back out of it with whatever cargo you’ve managed to pinch. To me, she is like this branch searching for darkness.

PS: I only tag it for study, not for the challenge.
I like your interpretation. The branch looks like it has power, but if it doesn't find what it is reaching out for, it will break in two.

ahh, to go places you have never been...you have outdone yourself this time Yao!....I love the "motion" of the branch...almost like a serpent writhing along into somewhere dark and forbidden....this is outstanding.....f

I love this picture!!! I'm so grateful that you are on this project, Yao! You gave us so much food for thinking... And inspire us with your wisdom! I see here the life of a person which is a Path bending and convoluted with turning points of the destiny... And other people's decisions affect it and sometimes make change its way... The branch is searching in the darkness, and finding a way to the light. The search is infinite. Wonderful!

@ksyu It should be me feeling grateful as you always teach me more about my own photos.

Yao, this is such a wonderful capture! I love it! A fav! It can almost pass as calligraphy.

This has an abstract quality to it that is fascinating.

Beautiful shot. Please don't venture into the darkness that Diane Arbus was in because sadly she was unable to crawl out again.

@onewing Thanks Babs. I am not courageous enough to do it. Shot the “dark” side is one thing. Being in the “dark” site is another.

I am scared to do some Arbus too, no suitable models, at least not ones I could bear to do that to.

@roadshow Thank you for dropping by, this is a hard challenge – dark side is not the place I have courage to go.
