I had to reach for google on this one. I was surprised to learn there are Monarch Butterflies in N Zealand. Scientists believe they were blown to Australia and then NZ via cyclones. They are under pressure here. They are the only migrating butterfly that travels 5000 miles from Canada to Mexico annually. Last summer I raised 45 monarchs for release. Such a fascinating story.
