They are wonderful aren't they - they dart about running very quickly in groups across the shores. They are one of my favourite birds- I love their colours and the red flashes of their beaks, but it is their call that I love most. The Orkney Islands echo with their call and if anything reminds me of home, it is that sound. 😊
