It's terribly sad to hear about the loss of life and injury due to the White Island eruption. I wondered if it was appropriate or not to post this picture. But for those who haven't visited I wanted to show the scale and the raw beauty of the landscape. This was from a visit in 2011, I very much doubt there will be any future visits. My deepest sympathises to anyone involved with this most awful event.
A nice tribute to all concerned .. Would of been amazing to be there such raw and volotile enviroment .. But certainly would not like to go there now...
I can the majestic in this photo - but an active volcano can never be trusted. It is such a sad day for N.Z and Australia too as many of the victims have come from here.
