Hauraki Rail Trail by yorkshirekiwi

Hauraki Rail Trail

Decided to take the bikes out for a bit of a run today. We haven't done the Paeroa to Te Aroha leg before. To be honest it was a bit boring, riding through farmland. The Waihi section is far more interesting, but thought it would be busy today, being Easter. 44.5km return, so got our exercise in.
Ah - I was on the other end doing Te Aroha to Matamata yesterday. It was only ok - just following along side the road. A good trail for zipping along - first couple of km concrete then the rest tarsealed with fine gravel.

@yorkshirekiwi @dide Lol, Sean did the Kaiaua to Thames section today which is 55km. He said it was OK although some parts of that were a bit boring too. I just wandered around at both ends and on the bridge taking photos! Wasn't it a beautiful day?

@nickspicsnz that’s so funny that between us all we nearly completed the trail...

@yorkshirekiwi Yep, we should have. The Karangahake bit as it seems to be the most interesting/scenic!
@dide Lol, oh yes - funny how we all chose different bits.
