Wrybill/Ngnutuparore is the only bird in the world with a laterally curved bill and it is only found in New Zealand!
Early scientists thought the first specimens they found were showing a deformity but they couldn’t find a straight billed bird anywhere, so they concluded this unique bird always has a bill curved to the right.
