1,886 m (6,188 ft). Certainly a volcanic world. Very unique scenery, and worth the 10.5 hour hike!

the actual crossing you can do in 6-9 hours, but we were lucky enough to go with a local mountain rescue man, who took us off piste and to places away from the main drag. My mum, who is 76, did the ordinary crossing in 7.5 hours
