The Red Crater by yorkshirekiwi

The Red Crater

Continued back up the opposite way to the crowds on the other side of the ridge, and up to the top of the red crater
Looks like another world how high up is it?

@rjb71 1,886 m (6,188 ft). Certainly a volcanic world. Very unique scenery, and worth the 10.5 hour hike!

@rjb71 the actual crossing you can do in 6-9 hours, but we were lucky enough to go with a local mountain rescue man, who took us off piste and to places away from the main drag. My mum, who is 76, did the ordinary crossing in 7.5 hours
