Aberystwyth Espresso

There are many places in this small town where you can get a cup of coffee. There is the usual global player (Megabucks, Costa Packet or whatever) but I prefer the local independents because I think we should support local businesses when we can. That way the town is more likely to have it's own individual character and the money is more likely to stay in circulation locally.

I positioned myself across the road, took a few shots then went inside with my fingers crossed! The couple with the baby were OK about it and so was the waitress, so I went back outside .... and the window cleaner turned up!

My lucky day!

Great capture, looks vintage - this reminds me of my old neighborhood in he Bronx from the early 1960's.

Nice one, great shot. I couldn't agree more with your sentiments. The homogenisation of the British High St. in my life time and the power of multinationals is something that disturbs me. I'm not the only one, see this shot from Jennie Cole, I had a rant on that one!!

A fav from me - just love everything about it, the tone is perfect and the b&w is the right choice (I think).

@megsy Thanks so much Megsy. You got me thinking about whether b&w is the right choice for this. I have started a 3rd album 'Even More Stuff' where you can see the colour version
