Storm at dawn, Aberystwyth

The alternative Storm Eleanor shot.

If you recall I wrote, in my New Year's Eve 'Postcard from Aberystwyth', that in 2018 I would like to avoid 'this is how it looks' shots - how am I doing?

At the time I was standing next to a local professional photographer.. I think its one of his on the BBC News home page this morning. I like mine better (but it certainly wouldn't make the front page!) .. less obvious, more impressionistic, an inner response.

A proper record shot (but also in b/w) is in my 365 album here:

I like yours better too...the BBC photo was nowhere near as dramatic as yours!

Magnificent. I feel as if I am there, battered and drenched.

Impressionistic - first word that sprung to mind. Definitely more so than journalistic. The lines of splash are just so right!

of all the storm shots you did, this is the winner for me. Though, I did have worries for your camera!

@francoise Thanks Francois... my favourire too. No need to worry about the camera.. its a Pentax K70 with 55-300mm lens, built for tough conditions and weather sealed to a very high standard... bought a couple of months ago for just this kind of work.

If I could give this more stars I would, to me it conveys more feeling.
