Seri Wawasan Bridge in Putrajaya

I went out with Canon last night on a night photography course and spent an enjoyable 3-4 hours with one of their external trainers in a group of 12 people.

This is a long exposure image of the Seri Wawasan Bridge which constantly changes colour all the time.

It is one of the main bridges in Putrajaya, which is the Malaysian federal administrative capital.

I learnt a lot last night, but first and foremost, remove your polarizer filter before you start ... something I didn't do and only discovered at the end of the shoot ... ah, well another lesson learned! The truth is that it's been on so long, I simply forgot about it ......

I have been so busy with the girls as it's Fashion Week, I haven't been keeping up with commenting but hope to catch up next week!

Thanks for visiting my 365!
Very nice.

Beautiful capture of the lights! I love this! But I have a question for you...I hope you don't mind...but I am very much a novice when it comes to photography and I know basically nothing when it comes to night photography...it looked like your exposure was for 20 seconds and your ISO 800...you did that to capture the lights since it was so dark? And the bridge is soooo beautifully blue...would that be a combination of colors (you mentioned that the bridge changes colors) or is that just the blue lights? I really do love this...I'm just trying to learn a little. Thank you. Oh, it is a fav!

@imkayde Hi Kristine, thanks for your comments/FAV and questions! Yes the long exposure of 20secs is necessary as it was very dark by that point. The teacher advised an aperture of F11 so we adjusted the shutter speed and ISO accordingly. The higher ISO is necessary as well and he said once you get to up 800 then it pulls the colours out of the image better at night. The blue colour was caused by the lights on the bridge changing but I also played about with the WB settings and used Tungsten at times to boost the blues. Please let me know if you have any other questions, I am always happy to answer them!
