@randystreat Kathy, The reason I say it is back is only one species breeds in the UK - but for a large part of the year it disappears - and also the stretch of water which only breaks the surface for about 100 meters before disappearing again underground. is basically just a trickle brook during summer but in winter turns into fast flowing water. Which is what they prefer. Possibly altitudinal migration. A little oasis set in the middle of a village with shops streets and mountain on one side and more houses railway and Beach on the other.
