Shield bugs in love

I'm a bit bug-fixed ;) at the moment, so another insect macro. This is a mating couple of Striped-Shield-Bugs (Graphosoma lineatum, family Pentatomidae). The striking red and black colours are a warning, that they are foul-tasting. I've no idea what they are doing here in Northern Germany. All references I found say, that they are a typical mediterannean species (also known as Italian Striped-Bug).

Amazing macro shot! The focus on the front bug is so sharp. Well done!
