The Humble Paper Poppy

Last year's poppy appeal raised almost £31m and it is hoping to exceed that figure this year.
A lovely image of the paper Poppies, Crossing fingers that more will be raised this year.

May the results be far more than the expectations.

Great poppy capture

I like the centre buttons on your paper poppies. They look sturdy and would keep the poppy fastened. We just have a straight pin and are forever losing poppies.

31 million pound - that is stunning. And I do like your composition for this.

@robz I think it will be more by a lot. Thank you
@farmreporter but it's single use plastic, I wish we could recycle.
@wendyfrost the poppy sellers were surprised when I took this after paying for my poppy
@carole_sandford the paper ones at work go as quickly as the donated wool ones
@jennyjustfeet think it will
@365anne thank you, I think the crop adds to it
@ludwigsdiana hopefully.

I hope they do. With it being the 100 years, it seems to be more high profile this year.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond
I doubt they will. I have a knitted poppy I have worn for years. You can always unravel them and turn them into stuffing for toys or cushions, should the inclination take you......

Even though I don't buy a poppy anymore as I bought a beautiful expensive poppy brooch from the British Legion two years ago but it doesn't stop me donating into the tin every year to thank them for the marvellous work they do.
