White on White- A Tad Wrong

This is an experiment in using a new (to me) editing program GIMP. It's gone very cartoonish and sketchy, but practice will prevail?

Picked up photos I took with Rolleiflex camera ( think 8 year old's first attempts)
Hula hoops great fun and fairly painless tonight
Lovely loose leaf tea in bone china cups in favourite olde worlde cafe this morning

@30pics4jackiesdiamond I think I am inclined to agree with you! Not keen on this one but I do love to see something new being tried. I shall be interested to see what you do with it after more playing around and learning. It's fun doing something new.

This is interesting - did you tone map it? At least you've worked out how to save images, and it's how we all learn, keep playing.

There's a fun drawing option in Filters -> Artistic -> Photocopy - almost produces a line drawing. (You can draw in GIMP, it's a freeware version of PhotoShop, effectively.)

Like this edit, occasionally I use GIMP too, especially the options under Filters and Colours. Well done!

I like the effect. I think only the wiry item at the top looks out of place. The pearls and glass are quite nice. The pearls even have a sheen to them.

Thank you all!! I love this site as the feedback is always useful. To be honest the starting composition was poor, the fairy lights just didn't add anything, the pearl necklace and glass more successful. Camera settings see off, so it didn't start white anyway, and go rescue a shot takes more skill than I have.

I'll be interested to see what you think of Gimp Jackie. I tried it ages ago and got so frustrated that I deleted it. Maybe I should try it with my Mac, just to add bit more frustration to my day :))
