Mary suggested I take a photograph that the 10 year old me would have wanted to take. This really had me stumped.
I've owned a camera since the age of 8, but as a child had to fund my photography and purchase and get printed my Ilford 127 films from my meagre pocket-money, and there were only 12 frames per film.
I would have loved to have taken a photo our cat. Both parents, but Dad in particular, would have disapproved of the waste of a frame.
As you can see here, I crept up onto a snoozing Olive, but she was, as ever, on guard and eyed me suspiciously. As soon as the camera was put away she was snoring again.
I changed to BnW in homage to my 10 year old self.
@mcsiegle Mary your challenge had me stumped for most of the week. I used my little point and click to mimic the limitatinos of my littel original Box Brownie camera and prowled the house and garden wonering what I'd have snapped. Then stumbled upon The Lodger Cat. Thank you for a lovely trip down memory lane, I wish I had the phtos I took as a child but the parents cleared them out when we moved abroad.
I remember the Instamatics we had as kids, with the cube flash bulbs š¤£ I remember having to buy our own film and fund the printing (Boots). Had to be far more selective with what we took when limited to 12 or 24 (far easier these days with digital) Donāt remember Dad as much of a photographer, but certainly Mum.
Great image of Olive. So glad she served as an appropriate subject that your 10 year old self might have liked to shoot. Thanks for going along with the challenge.
I like the train of thought that led to this photo. I remember having a camera as a youth but like you, couldn't afford to have many pictures developed.
