Dogwood Challenge this week is 'Current Affairs' so I thought about how to imaginatively capture the following:- the combined, double whammies of the black holes of Brexit and forthcoming election; the state of our planet and plastic/meat production/pollution; mass extinction (species - not protestors clogging up London); the security of jobs and the state of the pound-sterling. No honestly I did really think about those curent affairs!!
However, today I came across a current news item that I just have to share with you. It's made the BBC headlines and the national newspapers.
It's a Christmas decoration of a marmot. These are not native to Hampshire (or even the UK), they hibernate (so sleep through Christmas), oh and it's ski-ing (need I type more??!). And.... look who he's gone to for sponsorship!!

Well reading the first part, I was ready to slash my wrists - total doom & gloom! I rather like this chap though! Make believe is much more palatable! đ
I adore marmots! Saw my first real one in the wild in the Summer in Switzerland - we were ecstatic! And yes, they do hibernate so this is quite funny. I have to say I have removed the BBC app from the front screen on my phone and I don't watch the news or read the papers anymore. I just don't want to hear it! All it will do is stress and depress me without me being able to do anything to change it. I will stick with enjoying your marmot and looking forward to Christmas :) So thank you for the cheery chap!
