Macro photography is this month's theme in my photography course-I am amazed at how far away the 100mm lens has to be away from the subject - very different to the macro tubes.
This was my homework to set up a macro shot and get it right first time- well it's nearly right so will 'do'
Looks wonderful on black. I think with the DoF on 100mm you can’t get it any better focus-wise. Very nice. Love the comp, stem leads right to the focused flower.
I have that problem with my smaller lens. I am trying to take a picture but my camera won't let me click and then I think - opps I am too close. I haven't tried tubes yet maybe some day.
Great work with focusing! I use a 105mm macro and it is one of my favorite lenses. It's a challenge but once used to it, I find it is really versatile.
yeah. this really is rather gorgeous. i find the same surprise at the distance required whenever i break out my lensbaby sweet 80 - compared with my 60mm macro lens - never understand the maths involved in this photography caper so just have to wing it :)
