G for Golden Leading Line

Does this work as a leading line? What's distracting about it? I've not tried a curved leading line before, this was composed purposefully too.

If you have time click on the link to find out more about the beautiful Watt's Chapel where this was taken.
it works well as a leading line, i think i would have moved a tad to the left and cut the vertical on the right out of the picture, but you might have tried that!.

@kali66 @salza Thank you both and I totally agree! I did try that crop, but it then lost the bottom of the seat at the floor and skimmed too close to her head!! I wonder if I should have NOT cropped - so more of the pillar was there?? It is a very pretty pillar, but it did seem to distract from leading line!! So hard to get this photography right isnt it!!
@koalagardens @tinley23 Thank you both, nice when an experiment (almost) works

@kali66 @salza I put it through PicMonkey and cropped without keeping the original ratio- what do you think now please?? I think it's now a bit cramped and the line now seems to lead from her to viewer!

I really like this and for me the leading lines work.

Yes, it works. What a lovely place.

The golden band leads your eyes to the open book, so I thin it works… :-) The woman also serves to focus your attention on the book. I like this. The architecture fascinates me.

Love the tones and composition- fav

I didn’t see it before you cropped it but I love the way it looks now. I think the gold stripe is a perfect leading line and I love that it is curved

Never use Picmonkey, it makes me wanna try now. I didn’t see your other post either. Great advise from everyone, :-)
Love this shot. Love the curved lines and the focus in the lady.

works for me :)

yes it was worth a cropping, the intent of the leading lines is clear now :)
(I did mean move your feet left when you took it, but now i am just being annoying lol)

Yes, the lines lead you straight to the lady.
August 7th, 2020
It does if the lady was your target.......
