Same Colour - Monochromed

I loed this cup and saucer and when I found it had to have it as a prop. It's the same colours as the cat's blanket, so this is an offering for Northy's challege to put together disparate items and also the theme for day -one colour- which I've interpreted as one pattern!

Challenge to get the tones of the pastels to show in monochrome- I do find getting stuff into BnW so fiddly
@northy a rubbish offering for your challenge!!

Teacup and cats blanket are certainly disparate items! Not sure about matching patterns. But black-and-white and tones of gray certainly qualify as monochrome (one color). Fiddling around with the color tones in black-and-white certainly is a good learning experience, isn’t it?

Liking the props and lateral thinking to the colour challenge.

China teacups always remind me of my Mum. We usually have tea in mugs at our house but whenever my Mum used to visit we had to get out the special china teacup for her.

THe tones seem to go well together for this one! In spite of the fact that the patterns aren't the same, there is enough similarity to make it work in B&W. Can't imagine cat blankets and tea cups together so well done with that part of it too!

Nothing quite like a cup of (Earl) grey tea.

cool take on the challenge... nicely done! dealing with colour in B&W is definitely tricky - which i why i tend to go for things that are relatively monochrome to begin with 🙃... what are you using to convert to black and white? does it have colour sliders?
November 14th, 2020
@northy thank you, I am learning to use affinity, and there are sliders to change the(?primary) colours. For this pastel scene of pinks and blues, changing red and yellow had most effect. It's fascinating seeing the difference removing/ changing one or two colours has. Steep learning curve that I'm enjoying!!

Very nice monochrome shot.
Rather neat combination of subjects that did work together in the end!
Well done
