Happy New Year (1)

This took longer to execute than it looks like it did! Any advice on how to have improved the composition gratefully accepted!
Nice idea with the shallow depth of field. I wonder how it would look like from a lower angle.

pull it farther away from your background and lower the camera so that you see only the inside design on the rim. I'd place the light a little bit higher but to the left so you don't get the shadows.

Nice shot I was wondering if the chopsticks were in the bowl and your looking down the length of them into the bowl might make an interesting effect but that's kinda of changing the composition a lot..

@rjb71 thank you, nice suggestion, but they wouldn't stand up in the bowl though, might try with another container though
@summerfield it is the pov that's wrong, bug couldn't see it at the time,

This is a wonderful learning shot - I like Vikki's idea of lower camera and higher light.
