Peony Detail

Jay challenged me to do an insect's view of the world, but as that was last week's challenge I asked him for another. He then suggested a complementary colour (he spelt it color for some reason!) shot. After consulting St Google and what is a complementary colour I considered a half and halfie. I made it difficult for myself by setting up the light box studio thingy outside in the bright sun and tried shadow shots but none really worked as the sun was too bright (yippee to that!).
Nature's colour palatte for the peony is just perfect for the challenge. This isn't cropped, but I've had to remove specks due to a bit of grit of the sensor (how does it get there???!!) and tweaked clarity a bit.

The petals are bright cerese now, but this variety fades to pink then white fairly quickly, whether plonked in a vase or left outside on the plant.
@jaybutterfield i like this, hope you do?

A wonderful capture Jackie! I have realised that in some countries, including mine, that colour is spelt with a u. I think in Amerca it is without ;-)

Love peonies! Great color and insect perspective (as far as I can judge, being no insect, haha).

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Lovely.

As for the spelling, I am reminded of the quote attributed to Bernard Shaw "Britain and America are two nations divided by a common language."
