Keep Out by 30pics4jackiesdiamond

Keep Out

I was challenged to take a colourful photograph of local industry. However there is very little industry where I live- except tourism and the local gravel works.

I went out to get a shot of the gravel words across the water- but the tide was out! It was also blowing a hooley (when I got back I checked the local wind gauge and it was gusting 55 knots - so I was out in a gale!).

I'm not sure that this is what Marie @toinette had in mind, but none of the gravel works was colourful, worthy of posting and it's now peeing it down, so I'm staying in to do the crossword.
@toinette Here you go Marie, I hope my narrative explains why no factory or other industrial features in my photo!!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond this rusty chain just looks like the things I had in mind! I like the range of colors: red/brown, lilac, gold, silver, grey and a bit of military green. It gives (in addition to the locks) a great impression of the atmosphere - not very welcoming indeed.

I like it. Perhaps for the simplicity or the colors or the composition Or whatever! I gave it a FAV

Great combination of textures. I really like the rusty chain combined with the shiny new lock.

They really are determined to keep people out with three locks!

I like the selection of metals and the rust.

I like the contrast of the shiny lock and rusty chain. (And the clarity, and the composition....guess I need to fav this...)

Shiny and rusty, textured and smooth, lines and curves - it's great!

Good job they had a few locks because it looks as though they were short on chain links.
