Not a Creature was Stirring...............

not even my mouse!

Trying to do rim lighting on my latest Christmas decoration, what a faff and then a lot of extra faffing with dodging and burning.

Any advice, tips and critique would be very helpful, especially from those of you that do a lot of low key but lit shots.Thanks

Shows up on my screen rather dark and difficult to see. I can see the textures. Wish I could help. I don't even know what rim lighting is.

Play, play and play! This ornament appears dark and matte. This probably makes it difficult to complete the task. It absorbs light and this is the effect. Distance the light source, reduce the light beam, extend the time. Do each of these actions individually and observe the effect. When it is worse, move in the opposite direction.
