The bison in Yellowstone are huge!
A few fun facts: It is bison that are found in Yellowstone, buffalo are found in Africa and Asia. Male and females have horns and unlike antlers, they are not dropped yearly.
@365karly1 We saw a little boy walk up to a bison in Yellowstone, his mother was taking his picture. I actually told her he was too close, she just looked at me and kept taking pictures. Park rangers can’t be everywhere but I was sure wishing for one that day.
@louannwarren Some tourists just have no clue as to the dangers of wild animals. On the subject of rangers, you're right they can't be everywhere. The rangers that we encountered on this trip were amazing - so friendly and helpful - way beyond what one would expect. Hope they are still feeling so upbeat by the end of the season:)
What a great headshot of this guy - they sure were a whole lot more cooperative for picture taking than the birds around here. Like his eye and eyelashes.
