Mud wasp funnel

I was helping out today with CWA - Country Women's Association - selling cakes & Devonshire teas in an old shearing shed for Australia Day. I noticed this mud wasp nest & thought how amazing the funnel was. I have never seen one quite like it. This was looking upward along the timber. The lights at the tops are gaps in the roof.
the wasps have been busy....love the old textures in this shot...

@tellefella yes, the timbers were very old. Nearly like petrified wood.

I have never seen this kind of thing..we have mud wasps but ours must be a different variety. Interesting!
