Funnel web spider & bug. by 365projectorgjenfurj

Funnel web spider & bug.

With all the rain it pays to keep a check on the floor. This male funnel web was on the bedroom carpet.
Eeeeek!
They sometimes come inside when we have a lot of rain.
Luckily I spotted him & scooped him up in a glass. Hubby put the bug in to compare sizes.
You would not want one of them on the end of your toe

@peterday no extremely painful & sometimes life threatening. This was a small make. The females are much bigger & more aggressive.

Oh my God! That is scary! And you seem to take it in your stride! Were you not on the ceiling???????

So glad you spotted it before it spotted you. I keep an umbrella outside our family room for when I take garbage out to the dustbin when it is raining and yesterday when I opened it there was a huntsman sheltering inside. Not for long though. ha ha.

Cool shot! Not so cool to find him on your bedroom carpet! I suppose you have to watch out for these guys like we have to watch out for scorpions in Texas. Not fun!

@janemartin my exercise routine doesn't include that manoeuvre . Lol

@cruiser we haven't seen any for ages but we have finally had some great rain so the burrow was possibly flooded.
June 6th, 2016
@hermann yes, not nice to step on him.
June 6th, 2016
@onewing huntsman spiders I'm usually ok with as they eat other bugs & things. But I do hate it when they hide behind the sun visor in the car & drop down!!!
June 6th, 2016
@farmreporter yes, nasty bites with those fangs
June 6th, 2016
@marylandgirl58 yep, double yikes !

While I don't mind spiders, that one may have felt the end of my shoe ,,, even before I got my camera out.
June 7th, 2016
I'm so glad you spotted him, they are nasty looking being all black. The weather really affects animals too! Thanks for sharing, even though it gave me the shudders! haha
June 7th, 2016
@dyanstevens haha:) No I put the glass over him , slid the paper between the glass & paper & presto! It was hubby who 'don't you want it for a photo?'

June 7th, 2016
@narayani bit scary:)
June 7th, 2016
Great shot. You have some scary spiders down under. I lived in Africa for 30 years, they have some uglies there too. Great shot!
June 7th, 2016
@365projectorgjenfurj ha ha I would be doing the same, thank god your hubby was there to save the day!
June 7th, 2016
I can usually cope with most spiders & bugs but these inside are a bit off putting:) @daisyditch
