Glyndebourne wind turbine
In an effort to reduce its environmental footprint, Glyndebourne became the first UK arts organisation to generate its own power, through its on-site wind turbine. Launched in January 2012 by Sir David Attenborough, the turbine stands at 67m to the tip of the blade. It is located a short distance from the opera house on Mill Plain, previously the site of a windmill.
@robz
It's on private property so I had to take the shot from the road ( well, very slightly inside the gate). There is a small door at the base so hopefully that helps as a frame of reference for size. But I would have loved to go right up to it and take a shot from much nearer the foot.
wind turbines fascinate me. i rather like their structure yet i understand some people's opposition to them. you have captured their essence very well here
I like the wind turbines too.
But there was a lot of local opposition when this one was erected.
