Looking like a giant doughnut on a stick, and visible from most parts of the city, the i360 is a 162 metre (530 ft) fully enclosed observation tower on Brighton seafront that provides 360 degree views across Brighton, the South Downs and the English Channel.
Not popular with everyone, Brighton residents who dislike the i360 have nicknamed it the "iSore" and claim it is out of keeping with the rest of the seafront.
I feel sick looking at the picture... lol I would not be able to climb up it to see the views. People always disagree on what looks good, I guess the novelty and the beautiful views it provides would make up for the nay sayers complaints...
I do like the reflections and it sounds like it has great views...it is very modern in appearance. I have never been to Brighton but I can see both points. Fav.
I wouldn't go up on that one unless I am forced to - looking down from up so high makes me suffer from vertigo. Looks very modern, perhaps lthat is why residents don't like its looks.
I have mixed feelings myself.
Then again, there was a lot of local opposition to the Eiffel Tower when that first appeared!
Well spotted! It is directly opposite the West Pier (or what's left of it).
I don't think it spins! Just up and down.
But at £16.50 a go it's a very expensive lift!
Sadly they have chosen to apply some sort of reflective coating to the windows so you mainly get pictures of the inside of the pod :(
