Good close up 4rky..
Now that you are Ace are you also saving for a camera? :)
I've seen good ones with kit lens for about 50/75 euros here...
I bought my Canon EOS 400D (i use now for sooc) also 2nd hands a while ago, came with winder, kit lens, a very good book, few flash cards, 2 batteries + loader for a bit under 100 euro.. i guess you can even find em way cheaper now.. I think you gonna love to play with all the settings on a camera :)

@madeinnl
It is something I am considering :)
I have started saving! My main issue is not knowing anything about cameras - so it's hard to know what I should get to start out with.
You'd recommend a Canon EOS 400D?

@madeinnl
Get me! I don't even know what those letters and numbers indicate or stand for! Lol.

@4rky im not recommending anything :) but a Canon 400d is a cheap option (under 100 euro as a complete set) so you dont waste to much money... the camera i use as main is a Nikon D3400 and im more than happy with that one.. but i cant recommend a camera, it all depands on what you wanna do with it and how much you have to spend... pitty you arent closer otherwise you could use my old Canon to try it out a bit... Maybe you can find better sets under 100 euro, google is your friend :)

@madeinnl
Thanks Ko* - I will do some research. It will probably be a while before I make the jump to a real camera. The phone camera is keeping me happy for the time being :)

@chrispy01
Rain on and off all day along the South coast. So lots of photos of petals with raindrops - everything else too grey and dim and dreary to consider posting

@4rky A wonderful close up. You take brilliant photos with your phone. I bought a second hand Nikon body and lens. I found this website recently, there is an email course for beginners using a DSLR..this link is about choosing a camera although I am not sure how helpful it is! https://emmadaviesphotography.com/blog/new-dslr

@rosie00
Thanks for the link Lesley. I am enjoying 365 and the whole process so much - the obvious next step is to upgrade to a real camera!
But I definitely need to do a bit more research (and a lot more learning) first!

Really beautiful closeup. You're doing so great with your phone! Take your time to figure out what you want next.

As a first camera, I think you'd outgrow the entry level models, it's worth while looking at the next stage up and second hand with say ten thousand shutter situations would get you really good body that would keep you going for a good few years....I favour Nikon and the d7100 did everything an amateur could want it to! Buy some good full frame lenses and you're set up to expand when you move up to the next step....with your eye for a shot, it'd be worth it!

Meant to type actuations not situations...bloody auto correct!

Great composition- I really love the way you placed the yellow center down in the corner.

As for buying a camera- you really can't go wrong with either Canon or Nikon. If you're buying used you'll be able to find something in any price range on the internet. But in recent years Sony and Olympus (as well as a few others I'm sure) have been producing some really nice versions of their own. I use a Canon T3i (which was given to me as a gift and I love it!) most of the time, but I also have one of their "bridge" cameras which is my go-to moon shot camera. I also wanted one small camera I could have on hand- just in case a shot presented itself while I was out and about. For that I ended up with an Olympus and I must say it really does a great job. It's probably equivalent to what your cell-phone can do. The cameras in them keep getting better and better. It's really up to you- great shots don't come about because of the gear you have. They come about because you see them- so your cell phone may actually be all you need. Once again- excellent shot and best wishes on the camera hunting!

I like your title. Beautiful pic.

@yogiw FYI I use the camera on my iPhone X. I know that’s not the same thing as a real camera but it works for me. I take the photos of my day as they are happening. I don’t usually go out just to take photos so I would never have my real camera with me on a daily basis. And I hate to carry extra stuff on vacation so a real camera would be annoying to me. I realize this is not the norm on 365 but that’s the way I do it.

Gorgeous! Love the vibrant color, composition and sharp focus.

Beautiful, red is such a hard colour to catch, fav

@yogiw
I have been using my camera phone (Moto G5 - nothing special) since Spring and joined 365 a short time after in May (mainly because I was taking far too many cat photos and I wanted something that would get me to point the camera in a different direction!).
I continue to be amazed at the quality of image it can produce. I have been thinking about getting a "real" camera but I don't really know anything about cameras or where I should start.
I am not in any hurry and happy to continue taking snaps with the mobile for the time being :)

A beautiful capture with the water droplets! Fav.

I love my iPhone too! So easy and convenient and works for me. Yes, it does not do everything and sometimes I wish it did but it is great for today. My son bought a fancy camera for my daughter in law and she has never been able to put it to use. With 3 small boys on the go, she is lucky to get an iPhone snap. Sometimes I think about borrowing it to try but I haven't yet. It's big and bulky and I don't understand all the functions, speeds and stops. Good luck! :)

Thank you all for your kind comments and favs which are very much appreciated and helped to get this to both TP and PP. I'm often quite surprised at how well some of the pictures turn out when I review them when I get home - I was really pleased with this one :)
