In 19 Acres field, a stretch of chalk downland near Devil's Dyke, a small herd of New Forest ponies have been introduced by the council to help restore the ancient flower rich grasslands around Brighton & Hove.
@onewing The South Downs are the highest point of the area and are quite exposed - the weather is often very different to town and coast which is only 5 miles away. But the ponies are checked on regularly.
