Taken by my cousin on a recent visit to Kerry.
Built as a family home in the 19th century by my great-great-grandfather. It is situated on a hillside with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the Atlantic just a few miles down the road.
No-one has lived here for some years since a new farmhouse was built a short distance down the hill. My mother grew up here and we often visited during the school summer holidays. I remember it as a white-washed farmhouse with a flower and vegetable garden out front, an orchard out back, a dairy to the side and hens roaming free. It looks so different now with nature reclaiming it.
