These are impressive sandbags. We have real problems with costal erosion here and the authorities are constraint moving rocks and stones which get washed away. I wish that they would have the sense to do something like this.

Yes we do get some very high tides at certain times of the year. Itsmostly to prevent sand erosian I think. A big tourist area.
