Sailing into the sun

Sometimes I feel like my other job is a sailing photographer, as my children are out sailing at every opportunity. My son Matthew, on the 1390 boat, came first in this regatta. It was a good way to end his Flying 11 sailing, as he is now too big for the boat, and has had to move up a class. I don't think 13 year olds are supposed to be 6ft, are they?
cool photo ... it looks very artsy with the colored sails and silhouettes... I don't think I would mind being a sailing photographer! fav

I love the colours and possible movement of the sails. and yes 13-year-olds do grow very quickly and eat you out of house and home.

A great image - wow - he's a tall lad for his age! Bet some of his classmates look pretty little standing next to him. Good on him for gaining first place - he will be pleased to go into a more roomy boat!

@lynnz Thanks Lynn. It looks idyllic I know, but unfortunately I get sea-sick.

@gigiflower Thanks Sam, he has unfortunately not expressed an interest in basketball. It would be WAY cheaper than sailing too, I imagine :)

@365projectorgjenfurj He is definitely eating us out of house and home. I think he eats the biggest dinner of us all now.

@dide So true, he knocks his head a bit on this boat. Many of his classmates haven't had the growth spurt yet, and he towers over them. I just hope he stops growing soon.

@onewing @bugsy @777margo @judithdeacon @janeandcharlie @hermann @rosiekerr Thanks for your congratulations to Matt. He was thrilled to read them all, and has his trophy proudly displayed at home :)

@pusspup Oh wow, 6'5" and @merrelyn 6'4'!! @salza I blame the steroids in chicken - only kidding. But I do hope he stops growing soon, as it's hard to keep up with clothes and shoes.

Maybe he'll stop growing a bit early?? 6' is fine and another 6" would be fine, after that shoes, clothes etc get hard. My granddaughters are 6'2" and just under 6' respectively. They're keen horsewomen and look fabulous on horseback.
