14 May Ours for £1

Many of the famous English phone boxes are disappearing due to lack of use and vandalism. Luckily some 2,000 nationwide are being preserved and declared a listed building. The local council bought the village one for the heady sum of £1, renovated it, albeit with no phone inside and put up a history of the phonebox and its designer on the interior wall. It was completed this last week.
I guess they are a casualty of cellphones. You see very few public phones in the US any more. Glad to see they are preserving some in England - also loved the red boxes.

Your English phoon booths are so iconic, I'm glad they're being saved. When they're revered more, perhaps the vandalism will stop...

Lol, you live in a good place!
Its sad isnt it? I love the red boxes, they've always been around, at least that's what it feels like. I've always wanted to make a shower out of one!
