Jitterbuging at the VFW by Swazzette

Jitterbuging at the VFW

It was another night on the road with the band, Crazy Rocket Fuel, at the "Big Beat Jive Jamboree" in Villa Park, IL. I'm just a roadie or "helper-outer" for my friends in the band, but it's always fun to tag along to hear the music and watch the dancers. This evening's worth of rockabilly and 50's jitterbugging music was staged in a VFW Hall (for those outside the U.S. - VFW stands for Veterans of Foreign Wars and it's a kind of a national club for veterans and their families, but outside events are held there, as well). This is such a fun, retro 50's kind of thing to do on a Friday night...go to the Fish Fry in the basement and then dance all night to the jump-jivin' sounds of rock-n-roll. Yeah, Daddio!

BTW - Here are some earlier shot of Crazy Rocket Fuel.
Hope you didn't forget to wear your blue suede shoes!

I personally "need" a place to do dance off a fish fry dinner! There was a day I could dance all evening like that... Now I just enjoy a good rock 'n'roll band with songs I still remember! Your photo here is excallent with the motion of the dancers and the view to the band.
