I do love the theme ideas we've had this year! I wasn't sure I could find anything suitable this time, but, as I photographed dozens of pictures of Mallard babies, pond turtles, and squirrels, I saw this at the water's edge. Which is the "garbage", the algae or the leaf? One man's junk is another man's treasure...
fantastic - it really does look beautiful when you look at the colours and the sweep of the curved lines. Must admit, I've failed to come up with anything for this theme, but it is a god challenge.
Nice! I thought it was an aerial too. It almost has that tilt-shift effect going on. I had to read your description to discover what this was. Love the colors and lines that really draw you in.
It reminds me of the striations in a piece of pounamu- New Zealand Greenstone so important to the Maori that our south island was named Te Wai Pounamu The (land of) Greenstone Water. A beautifully appropriate picture of 'beautifulgarbage'.
"go green" that's the motto nowadays and this stretch of algea is just the ticket. i wouldn't consider it garbage i'd rather go with the leaf in this case.
Louise this is a wonderful picture love the curves and the different shades of green.
What a great perspective! I love this shot, the lines and the colors! Thank you also for all of your kind words and encouragement on my photos! I agree that it seems we do have much in common, and I look forward to following your photos!
Wow, Tiina, *Thanks*!! I just googled his name to see his images and they're beautiful! I'd never have known if you hadn't said something. Thank you for sharing! (Wow!...good company :-)
this is wonderful! great for the theme this week! I can see why everyone thinks its an aerial picture because in the left top corner to me it looks like a little town =]
Very dear Louise, I hardly can find out what's in your photo but I could make an excuse out of it to leave you a comment and ask about the photo. What is the dark green layer in the upper right corner, I can guess that it is a kind of mud but I can't understand what you're doing there. Let us see a wider shot of the place if possible... I missed you so much! I know it's not a good beginning after such long time but I can't write what I don't believe in to be right... (The rest should remain private)
Very cool lines and colors!! And thank you for your wonderful note...and yes, I really do own that squirrel! It's a nutcracker, LOL. I'm glad you liked it; when this was announced even though I indeed am busy unpacking I knew I just *had* to do it. Your warmth and personality come through in your photos and your comments. :-)
I would frame this and put it in my house, seriously. Gorgeous lines and love the color! My ceiling in my house is actually a similar color to this shot. This really looks like a piece of art. Bravo my darling, bravo!! :)
Apparently they nest close to the river ... I didn't realize we had them until I saw this nest and the subsequent newspaper article! I knew it was a bird of prey when I say it, but thought it was either an eagle or a hawk. Another example of my growing awareness of my environment!
this is so pretty! thanks for the comment about my 'yellow'. It was one of those moments where I saw the shot and grabbed it. (same as the "quaint" the day before)...I think pretty often those shots turn out better than my planned shots or ones I obsess over.
omg, louise! what a wonderful pattern! is this real? how i love the colours...this reminds me of my favourite avocado ice cream!
by the way, thanks a lot for leading me to the POP*ular page again!

This is an amazing shot, Louise!!!!! I love all the different textures!!! In Bulgaria I went to an exhibition of a photographer duo, who were taking pictures of the landscape from above. They were all incredible, like posters you would like to have on you wall. Your photo reminds me of their works - exquisite colors!!
"The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat...."
Louise this is a wonderful picture love the curves and the different shades of green.
Very interesting colors too!
It really looks like a painting!

I have a surprise for you today, on my page! ;-)
