It's always nice to be home, no matter where you've been.
Didn't change my pictures, Skytrain is on my way to pick my parents up, MJ's portrait is the day after when she flew out.
I'd advise settling down in your favourite chair wirth a glass of wine and enjoying the smells and sounds of home.
Your home and garden look lovely. Thank you for sharing a peek with us. Hope you are enjoying a few last Plan Bs there before you head off for your holidays ; )
What a welcome feel to your front door! I came over to answer your qu about why we are here and you have appropriately posted a photo of 'home'....funny how that works! You ask a question with many answers- I'll try not to confuse you :) I am an adult third culture kid. I was born outside of my own country and spent my formative years in Asia (where my sisters were born) where my Kiwi parents were based. I grew up surrounded by a huge colourful variety of human expression, cultural ritual and belief systems, a wide understanding of 'normal' and knowledge of what it is like to live outside of New Zealand. When my boys were born I wanted that for them too. I wanted them to love the difference and diversity and to be curious and open and to know first hand the wide range of growing up experiences those from other countries have. My husband works for a Australian financial institution that is global but not huge. It gives us the opportunity to move somewhere else in the world every 2 or 3 years and the ability to travel to other countries during holiday breaks. We are slowly making our way around the world and growing a couple of global citizens. Its all about tolerance and acceptance, generosity and compassion, openness and understanding characteristics I think the world lacks and basically I feel like its my responsibility as a parent to teach my kids. I always feel like its a bit of a lecture when I answer that qu and I could just say J's work but that would be wholely untrue :)
Im glad you arrived 'home' safely.
oooh...your front porch looks gorgeous...you might need to take us on a tour of the whole house one day..it looks so inviting and welcoming (just like you..)....you dont mind having a few of your 35 buddies over for a coffee and a look around do you? ;)
A very beautiful home, Louise...but I knew it would be! ;-)
Just got the loveliest note from Judee, herself!
You have amazing friends. But I knew you would, being an amazing one, yourself! :-)
What a beautiful and welcoming face your home has! Love those ferns! I am getting quite anxious to get to my summer home, where green is the order of the day!
i am confused is this where you live permanently or are you calling it home as well in NS? which ever way it is friendly and awful inviting. mind if i drop by?????if only i could.
i knew i wanted to be your neighbor the moment i saw your pool photo =) lovely home you have here, Louise. it looks so inviting, like you. you've invited us into your life and now you're showing us parts of your home...thanks for sharing.
Louise! i went over all my pictures and also i had made myself a mental note to answer your question. sorry to be so late with it. when you viewed my family re.: my daughter Grace and the resemblance of her to Fergie. Yes she has been stopped on the road and in shopping malls and even a few times on board when we were cruising. one time on board i remember so clearly. this english gentleman approched us and said to her: "my apology but may i ask you has anyone ever told you that you look so much like "Fergie" ? oh he was so polite: Grace answered: "yes i might look like her but i don't have her money" now why she said that i don't know she never made that kind of at comment before. anyway the gentleman apologized againand left us.
What a beautiful home you've got, Louise!!!! ;-)) Nothing compares to that feeling!! Thank you so much of getting me a glipmse of my home today!!!!!! You are amazing!!! ;-)) I saw your message this morning and immediately followed the link! I hope Myrna posts some more pictures of Bulgaria! I used to live 3 minutes away from The National Palace of Culture (the image she posted), and i would pass by there everyday! Behind it there's a small pretty park, and the Vitosha mountain is lurking in the background. It's right in the heart of Sofia! I am sure I'll make it back home sometime this year and I'll get you more familiarized with the surroundings!! Everything is changing so fast in Bulgaria - malls and new big building are springing up all the time, traffic is getting overwhelming, but in the small towns and villages life is still going at a slower, leisurely pace. Mmm..home, sweet home!!! ;-))
Thank you again for giving me that warm feeling!! ;-))
A beautiful home. I especially like the reflection of the porch in your window. I can see a fence or trellis, chairs and a table. Much more than you wanted us to see, right;-)
Louise, this is a beautiful photo. Simple, yet there is so much emotion that goes along with the feeling of "being home". Well done, being able to capture that in a photo.
