This town isn't just about old homes, carriage rides and cemeteries. Today I had chance encounters with a couple more neighbourhood cats, and each time, I was in the car. Also, each time, I asked Ken to stop and back up so I could take pictures. We were on our way out to Blue Rocks for our morning walk when we passed this beauty, posing. I got my one picture before he dashed up the steps. Loving cats as I do, I decided I'd treat myself today and use this one.
Thank you all for the many comments about Sophie's Broken Heart. I tried my best to get back to each of you, but fell short. There's really just no catching up here, is there?
Word will get out to the Lunenburg cats just like it did to the Fountain Valley squirrels, and you'll have them all eating out of the palm of your hand in no time.
He's so cute. I love the black spot on his nose. He looks like a cat we had when I was little we called her mittens because she had white paws and most of her body was black.
I just love this Louise! I may have told you before but I can't remember anything these days. I'm a huge fan of B & W cats. My cat Kodak was black and white and he lived to be 18. He's been gone for a few years now but it still feels like he's around.
What a cutie! You KNOW you wanna take him home, don't cha?
Thanks for your compliment on my eerie pic! Regarding how I'm managing to get a pic up here each day...I'm doing what I can, when I can. For instance, right now I'm kneeling at my computer desk because I've already moved the chair to another room and packed up everything on the desk but the keyboard and computer. We have a moving van moving some furniture out to Indiana this Saturday, and then the whole rest of the house gets moved to our apartment here in the city next Saturday. We still have LOTS to do, so I'll get off my knees now and get back to work. G'night! :-)
This kitty has the most wonderful heart-shaped nose!! I had to stop and comment! Loving it! ;-) I am a cat addict myself, and when we were touring the Greek Isles I had a whole collection of photos of Greek kitties! They were so beautiful, and they were everywhere to be found - napping leisurely under the warm sunshine! :-)
P.S. There's really no catching up in here - just one more photo, one more comment, and it's already almost midnight here! i don't know if anybody is following our conversation or not, but I am sure our lenghty comments definitely stand out! ;-)
What a great capture, the cat looks like it's posing. Thanks for the comment on my picture about the yellow lupine flowers, maybe I find more colors of them around. :)
You have captured the cat perfectly! It was obviously fate that he was sat there waiting for his photo to be taken when you drove by! The photo has great composition and i like that you left it in colour to show off the nice green leaves framing the cat!
Beautiful.... love the way you've composed this picture. And yes, daylight bulbs don't have the yellow glow... they are really as near to natural light as you can get.
This kitty is adorable! His nose looks like a little black heart. You got some other great shots too. I especially love the last one you posted in your Shutterfly album! Like Slava said, I don't think it's possible to catch up here! We may need to form a 365 withdrawals support group when we finish our projects! ;-)
I'm glad the eeriness I had in my head translated into the cloud shot. I've just started experimenting with processing beyond the basics, and the vision in my head doesn't always come through on screen (or I'm not quite skilled enough to make it work).
Beautiful shot. I love how his black and white fur stands out against the green behind him. It was very nice of St. Ken to indulge you by backing up so you could take photos!
Saw your message. Work began on Monday and I have been assaulted by the constant banging, drilling, sawing, thuds all week. I swear the timing has been awful to be out of commission! On the bright side, we were able to get the roof done, new gutters, new sky lights on the patio, redo the patio cover and a new A/C unit for just a hair over 20k. There is a definite benefit to getting this work done now while the building industry is still in a slump. As far as we can tell half of the roof was original and the front half was on the second layer. The A/C was also original so at least 30 years old. It hurts the wallet to be sure but it was so necessary. I am sure we will be thrilled now that we are heading into 90+ degree weather and actually have an A/C that works efficiently!!!
As for my back, I worked for about 2 hours yesterday before I had to head home in pain. =\ I called my doctor and she changed one of my medications, adjusted how to take another and added a steriod which she said should help quickly. I am feeling a little bit better today but am taking it easy in hopes I can return to work Monday.
Glad to see you are happy and keeping busy. Sorry I have not had a chance to reply to your email. Unfortunately the meds are making me feel a bit scattered but I know it is temporary. Looking forward to talking with you soon. Miss you! =)
He was probably just curious enough about what you were doing when you stopped and backed up the car for you to get the one shot, but then his 'flight' mechanism kicked in and ... he was gone......
Looks like he was just waiting for you to come along with the camera! I remember some of your squirrel photos, I had just started the project! So, yes I will certainly be on the look out for those red squirrels, shame we have to wait 3 years though but in the meantime will make do with the naughty grey ones!
Louise, you are so full of great ideas!! I am taking tons of pictures of the house rennovation and our finds, but I have never though of making an album, until you suggested it! Now I know I will! Thank you so much for another brilliant insight! It will be really cool to frame some of the best shots and decorate the walls with actual pieces from the house! I already have so many images in my mind! ;-)
P.S. I am sure that your shoe is lurking somewhere, waiting to be discovered. But, please, don't start digging for it. Torn plastered walls make a lot of mess. A LOT.
Beautiful kitty! No, there is no catching up. I work on it every day, along with running about 50 online groups, running a facebook page for my work, working full time, and taking photography classes. I will never catch up but I do my best.
Thank you so much, Louise! I'll be looking forward to it.
I got some fabulous shots of Doodle changing into chyrsalis form today. It only took 5 1/2 hours and 297 pictures. I haven't even had time to look at them and I work till 9 tonight.
Your other pictures on shutterfly are wonderful too!
Thanks so much for your encouraging comments and lovely welcome too. I'm enjoying the project very much, and seeing what other people photograph is inspiring and educational as well. Thanks again!
Such a great capture! :)

He looks like my childhood pet, Gussy!
Love him!
He looks so regal sitting there!
