"My name is Charles Baker Harris, but my friends call me 'Dill'"
says the boy, by way of introduction as he came through the fence.
-To Kill a Mockingbird
I've told this story before, but we've got many newcomers on 365, so I wanted to explain how this beautiful cat got his name. He belongs to my neighbors up the street, and he actually did come through the fence when they first found him. He was being poorly cared for by a family with young boys, and they offered him to my friends to keep as their pet.
Dill comes to visit me several times a day. We open the back door in the morning & he's sitting on the bench out on the porch. He sees us drive up and he comes running down the street to greet us. He's the best thing to having a pet of my own while we're up in Nova Scotia for the summer.
As I share my profile name with Ken, I want to share that today we're celebrating our 41st anniversary. Where have the years gone?!
I got this chair (with the table & 3 more) at a garage sale when I first came up here. I met my great friends, John & Mike when I bought this from them. They wanted to know what brought someone from California to Lunenburg, and the conversation was underway!
First off, To Kill A Mockingbird is my ALL time favorite book. I once had a cat named Scout ! She's long passed, but it certainly gave me the "warm fuzzies" to see your Dill! How precious! BEAUTIFUL cat! Love the contrast of colors! The chair is AWESOME!
41 years worth of congratulations to you and Ken!
Amazing A M A Z I N G job! May you be blessed with at least 41 more years of happiness and joy together!
Congratulations on 41 years I would say that's an accomplishment considering now a days spouses have one disagreement and they automatically think divorce. I hope to one day be able to say my husband and I have been married for 41 years. Actually I would love to say we've been married for 50 years. My grandparents were married for over 50 years when my grandmother died and I must say I have never seen two people so much in love through the good or the bad.
Your kitty looks not so amused in this picture sort of like he is thinking "you're going to take the picture any way so you might as well get it over with" He is very beautiful!
Congrats!! Dill is so stinkin' handsome and I love that chippy chair he is sitting on. :) Hope you guys have a wonderful anniversary! *I'm so out of it and tired right now, I need to go to bed, so sorry for not commenting more lately.*

So sorry i haven't had time to look at too many pictures. it's hectic on vacation and i have spent a lot of time on all the collages as i wanted to share as much of our time here as i possibly can. today is the first evening where everyone went to bed early and i'm still up at 11:45. time to go to bed too.....just wanted to send my congratulations to both of you... 41 years, wow you beat us by 7 years. ours is on the 19th of this month - - 2 days before Hans's birthday. i think his family is going to throw a big party for him from what i can gather. well i wish you both many many more happy years together.

This is one "cool"cat! Happy belated Anniversary to you both. I loved the wedding photo your daughter found. I hope that you had a wonderful day together :o)
First of all, Happy Anniversary! I'm always in awe when I hear of folks hitting 50+ years and you will be there before we know it. Mrs. Matt and I got hitched later in life so when we hit 50 years will likely be in an assisted living environment :).
I've been a on a bit of a comment break lately as I've been on vacation with the family. Thanks as always for your continued comments. I love the story on Dill and I totally understand how having regular visitors like this are so enjoyable.
Another gorgeous shot of Dill. And I love that chair he is sitting on - it has a lot of character and it adds great texture to the picture beside his soft white fur.
Happy aniversary to you both
Soo beautiful.
BTW. To Kill a Mockingbird is probably my favorite book.
41 years worth of congratulations to you and Ken!
